Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was forced to deal with not one, not two, but three injuries during the first half against Liverpool on Sunday. Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard all had to leave the pitch within the first 45 minutes of the clash, leaving United down to bare bones.

And Shaw reveals what the atmosphere was like in the dressing room at half-time: “We were all very disappointed with how the first half went. We didn’t play well at all. We gave too many balls away too cheaply and luckily that didn’t cost us.

“But we had a change of formation, we had a good chat at half-time. Everyone was going crazy.”

However, according to Shaw, the players managed to calm down following the fiery exchange. In the end, the half-time clearly worked as United managed to keep their heads and collect a point at Old Trafford.

The United full-back added: “We said ‘relax and we just need to play our game‘ and I think second half was better.

“We still weren’t at our best but overall I think we created the best chances and I feel we should have won.”
