Kepa And One OTHER Star Are To Be Blamed After Sub Fiasco

Antonio Rudiger’s agent slammed Chelsea stars after the Carabao Cup final.

The Spaniard went down with cramp in the dying seconds of extra time at Wembley, which forced Maurizio Sarri to get his No 2 ready to come on.

Caballero was all ready to enter the field and replace Kepa, until the Spaniard simply point-blank refused to be brought off.

Sarri went ballistic on the touchline and Caballero was also visibly upset at not being able to get his moment in the spotlight.

But Rudiger’s agent surprisingly took to Twitter to hit out at Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta instead.

In a series of tweets, Saif Rubie slammed the Spaniard, accusing him of a lack of leadership for not making his fellow countryman leave the field when asked by Sarri.

And the agent also backed his client to take over as Chelsea captain.

“I’m a fan of Azpi [Azpilicueta] but as captain he should never have allowed what happened with the GK [goalkeeper] refusing to come off to happen,” he tweeted.

“For me he needs to have the captaincy taken off him, GK dropped for the foreseeable future and Rudiger to be made Chelsea captain as he’s a real leader.”

Sarri doesn’t look set to drop Kepa or strip Azpilicueta of the captaincy after admitting the incident was a misunderstanding.

And his goalkeeper also released an impassioned statement after last night’s final.

“First of all, I regret how the end of the match has been portrayed,” he wrote.

“I think everything has been misunderstood in the heat of the final part of a match for a title.

“The coach thought I was not in a position to play on and my intention was to express that I was in good condition to continue helping the team, while the docs that had treated me arrived at the bench to give the message.

“I feel the image that has been portrayed was not my intention. I have full respect for the coach and his authority.”

“At no time has it been my intention to disobey the coach or any of his decisions.
