Mike Sonko suffers another major setback

Clinical officers union

A health crisis is looming in Nairobi County as clinical officers threatened to down their tools from Thursday, February 28.

The health workers want the County Government of Nairobi to address issues of delayed promotions, reliable supply of drugs to health facilities and deployment of more health workers.

Reuben Raboso, the Chair of Kenya Union of Clinical Officers, pointed out that some of their members have stagnated in the same job groups for for over six years.

“It is not just an issue of promoting them but our members have stagnated in one job group for more than six years while others even 10 years,” Raboso said.

“We are saying that if your are promoting an officer from one group to another, consider the number of years one has spent in the group and promote them in the right one and also backdate their allowances,” he added.

The health workers noted that they are not seeking for allowances but and designation of job groups, adding that  officers should be confirmed after 6 months.
