Solskajaer hope Tottenham can do the unthinkable

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has met the media before the Sunday’s showdown against Liverpool to discuss the most pressing issues.

He spoke of the historical rivalry against Liverpool: ”I’ve played a few of these myself and I know the magnitude of it for the fans, for everyone who works here, the staff. There have been many comments about ‘this is the big one’, ‘we’re looking forward to this one’…

”Then it’s our job to be focusing and channelling all that energy into performance mode when we start the game on Sunday. It’s not about emotions. I understand that emotion can be brought into it but we have to stay focused and controlled but with some fight in us as well.”

Ole was also asked about the title race he described as three-horse: ”I’ve not really focused on the teams what they’re doing I’m focusing on us and what we have to do to get to where we want to be it’s a three horse race for the title and fourth that’s my focus.”

“We have to perform better than we did against PSG,” Ole says. “That’s the focus because it’s a big game against a big team. We’ve got to learn from that experience and make sure we stay focused the whole game.” #MUFC— Manchester United (@ManUtd) February 22, 2019

Asked if he’d love Spurs to pip United rivals City and Liverpool to the title, he said: ”I don’t get myself involved in that but maybe (smiles).”

The head coach said how he ideally sees United play: ”I wouldn’t tell anyone, would I (laughs)? We have to perform better than we did against PSG, because it’s a big game, a big team, suddenly we’re not underdogs any more. All these games are decided by little margins. That 1 centimetre Kylian Mbappe was in front of Eric (Bailly), that’s the deciding factor.”
