Christian Eriksen’s agent opens up about Tottenham midfielder’s future

Christian Eriksen is focused solely on his football at Tottenham amid speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Spain, according to his agent.

Eriksen has been in fine form this season, scoring five goals and providing nine assists in 23 Premier League games for Spurs.

He has less than 18 months to run on his current deal at Spurs, which runs out in 2020, and his performances have attracted interest from both Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“Christian only wants to focus himself on football,” his agent Martin Schoots told ESPN FC.

“Besides his technical, tactical and athletic skills, also this attitude has contributed over the years to his impressive transformation from world class talent to world class player.

“At this moment I would prefer not to join the speculations about contracts and transfers.”

According to reports in Spain last month, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy “went into a fit of rage” when he learned that Real were plotting a move for Eriksen.

The Spanish giants are also said to have designs on Eriksen’s club-mate Harry Kane and boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Eriksen arrived at Spurs in 2013 for a fee of around £11million and the playmaker has gone on to make 259 appearances for the north London club in all competitions.
