The CS Education, Amina Mohammed has announced that the police to start a mission of cracking down defaulters of University HELB loans.
The loans are worth over 7.2B owed by 74,000 defaulters across the country.
The activity is set to start immediately and employers are expected to help with the process of tracking down defaulters.
“We are also going to partner with our law enforcement agencies to track down those holding jobs and yet are reluctant to stand up to be counted as responsible and patriotic citizens who honor their debts,” said Amina on Wednesday 20th.
Those living in diaspora will also not be spared. According to HELB Chief Executive Charles Ringera, the board will partner with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to track down defaulters living abroad.
This is a wake-up call to Kenyans who have not paid or have no plans of
