Security officers arrive at Baringo following deadly bandit attack

In an attempt to restore peace following a deadly bandit attack in Baringo that claimed the lives of five people, Baringo County Administration Police Commander Robinson Ndiwa has said his officers have arrived at the scene.

On Wednesday the bandits raided a village in Kapindasum, Arabal Location, Baringo South and killed three secondary school students and two National Police Reservists.

The area Chief William Koech confirmed that suspected bandits raided the village at around 3AM and committed the heinous act.

The students, according to the chief were home for midterm. The raiders made away with unknown number of livestock.

The raiders allegedly made away with one rifle belonging to one of the police reservists.

The chief called on locals to maintain peace as the security team pursues the killers. “It is a sad moment here, we however call on the locals to maintain peace and allow the security team conduct investigations into the matter. The culprits must be brought to book,” he said.

Vincent Ole Kosek, a resident said over three hundred cows have been stolen.

In June 2017 one Kenya Defence Force soldier was killed and another one injured at Arabal. The soldiers were on their way from Komolion to Rugus when they were attacked at 9am.
