Nadi County Gorvernor demands the State to Unmask owner of Ksh. 1.3 Billion Heroin shipment

Nandi County Governor Stephen Sang is now calling out on the State to reveal the owner of the 370.8 kgs of heroin valued at Sh1.3 billion shipment blown up in Mombasa by President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2014.

Through his lawyer Danstan Omari, Sang has written to all state agencies requesting for information relating to the details of ownership of the defunct ship known as Amin Darya/MV Alnoor that was blown up in Mombasa.

Sang has questioned why the owners of the ship have not been unmasked approximately five years down the line since the ship was blown up.

The stunt comes barely a month after, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho sued Sang, MPs Oscar Sudi, Kimani Ichung’wah and Didmus Barasa for allegedly spreading lies that he was a drug lord.

Sang and the three legislators are said to have claimed that Joho’s name was in a list tabled in Parliament by the late George Saitoti back in 2010.

The list of six names was in a US embassy dossier, which ex-US ambassador Michael Ranneberger had given to the then Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission.

The governor wants the information in order to help him vindicate himself in the lawsuit filed by Joho against him.

Among the agencies that the governor has written to include Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC), Office of the President, Defense CS Rachel Omamo, DCI George Kinoti, IG Joseph Boinett and Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.

Joho has also demanded the International Police Organisation (Interpol) clarifies the authenticity of a controversial letter dated November 2018 that claimed he was on Interpol’s organised crimes and drug trafficking most-wanted list.
