Gays pray to their ‘god’

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community gathered last Sunday in a location in Nairobi to pray.

The LGBT people were praying in ahead of a ruling this Friday by the High Court over the constitutionality of laws criminalizing homosexuality.

Cosmopolitan Affirming Church (CAC) is among the few religious organizations that accepts the LGBT culture.

The church was founded by David Ochara in 2013.

Most traditional laws in Kenya prohibit same-sex marriages. The Constitution is the Supreme law in Kenya. However, a case involving a conflict between constitutional law and traditional law, the practice in the latter must have memorial antiquity; it must have been in existence before known time.

Any sexual practice in Kenya apart from male-female sexual intercourse is termed as ‘carnal knowledge’ whose penalty is 14 years.

The law includes acts done in private and public which gives the police powers to storm into a bedroom where a sexual act is going on.
