29 names of teachers accused of misconduct, were on Tuesday struck off the teachers’ register by the TSC.
According to a local paper, the 29 stood accused of having sexual relations with their students with pending cases.
Teachers were also struck off the register for desertion of duty, insubordination, and negligence, as maintained by the Nation.

United Nations Population Fund (UNFP), in a detailed report, revealed that at least 378,397 Kenyan girls aged between 10-19 got pregnant between June and July 2017.
“In exercise of the powers conferred section 30 (1) of the TSC act Chapter 212 of the laws of Kenya, the Commission wishes to notify the public that the persons whose names are specified in the schedule herein below have been removed from the register of the teachers,” read an excerpt of the notice.

TSC CEO, Nancy Macharia, attributed the numerous pregnancies as well as forced drop out to teacher-student sexual relationships.
Once a teacher’ name is struck off the register, he or she practically ceases to be in the profession thereon as they are classified as unemployable under the teachers act except by the direction of the commission.
