10 acres of the Eldoret airstrip’s land engulfed by fire

It has been reported that a huge inferno razed down a huge section of the Eldoret Airstrip’s property on Wednesday.

Sources indicate that an estimated 10 acres of the Eldoret Airstrip’s land had been engulfed by the fire.

Huge smoke was also seen billowing from the scene and planes enroute for the facility were diverted to the Eldoret International Airport.

Elsewhere in Kisumu, bad weather on Tuesday evening forced airport officials to reschedule at least two flights headed for the Kisumu International Airport.

According to Charles Chetalam, an official at the airport, unfavorable weather in Kisumu affected the two flights by Fly 540 and Jambo Jet.

This comes midst nation wide upoar over Jomo Kenyatta International Airport take over.

Lawmakers are demanding to know the identities of the other KQ shareholders, besides the State, amid jitters that the proposed takeover of JKIA will not be viable.
