Sixth Letter from Waiguru to DPP, Demanding Kabura Lies Publicized

Ann Wiguru

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru proved to be a persistent woman if her pursuit   for exposure of Kabura’s affidavit findings is anything to go by.

On Valentine’s Day, the governor penned down the 6th letter to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) demanding the publication of findings from their investigation of the controversial NYS scandal suspect Josephine Kabura.

Taking to social media, Waiguru expressed her disappointment over what she termed as Kabura’s lies explaining that it had been three years since the case was mentioned.

“My 6th letter to EACC and 2nd to DPP requesting them to make public the findings of the Kabura affidavit. 3 years have lapsed.

“Who was behind Kabura lies; Who wrote the affidavit; who distributed it; and why? To whom did the Kabura money actually go? Any action being taken?” posted the governor.

In the letter, Ann Waiguru, explained that the delay in closing the matter had caused her irreversible damage through lawyer Mansur Issa.

“We would be grateful to know the outcome of the investigations as the delay to bring this long outstanding matter to a close on the part of the Commission has caused our client irreparable damage and lent credence to the false allegations,” read the letter.

The war between the two parties first came about in February 2016 after Kabura, a key suspect in the Sh791 Million National Youth Service Scandal (NYS), claimed that she shared millions with the former Devolution Cabinet Secretary- Ann Waiguru.

In court papers at the time, Kabura revealed that Waiguru introduced her to doing business with NYS and even helped her register the companies used in the dubious dealings.

Kabura further claimed that the former CS held an urgent meeting at her Runda home when reports emerged that Central Bank (CBK) was questioning huge payouts at NYS.

However, the former Minister denied the claims by Kabura, saying that in August 2015 she lived at Kitusuru and not Runda.
