Man found sneaking out child from KNH acquitted

Mr Boniface Murage, who was on Monday charged with attempting to defraud the Kenyatta National Hospital by escaping a Sh56,000 bill with his baby has been set free.

Although he had pleaded guilty, Senior Resident Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe set him free today on Tuesday after handing him a three-month suspended sentence.

The 22-year-old man will now only see the inside of a prison cell should he commit a crime within the three months.

This is as Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Monday paid the hospital bill and shopped for the man’s wife, while the county press office also said the governor offered Mr Murage a job.
