Will Chelsea Sack Maurizio Sarri If They Lose To Man Utd TONIGHT?

But will the Blues actually sack their manager if Manchester united win tonight?

Chelsea boss Sarri is under immense pressure to deliver results at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian cost Chelsea a small fortune to get him installed as boss last summer.

Not only did they pay Napoli around £4.4m to prise him out of his contract, but they are still paying off Antonio Conte’s £9m-a-season deal until the end of this term.

Sarri has overseen a miserable season so far for Chelsea, with the Blues facing the real risk of not qualifying for the Champions League next term.

They lost 6-0 at Manchester City in their previous Premier League game and Sarri has admitted he is struggling to motivate his players.

Express Sport understands Sarri has already received text messages from owner Roman Abramovich warning the Italian he will be sacked if results do not improved.

Will Sarri be sacked?
So, will Sarri be sacked if Chelsea lose to Manchester United?

The most likely answer is no. After all, Abramovich has never put much value in the FA Cup and has had no problem ditching managers in the past – even when they have won the trophy.

Conte claimed the FA Cup last year and Guus Hiddink claimed it in 2009 – but was not given the Blues job full time.

Roberto Di Matteo won the FA Cup and Champions League in 2012 but was sacked just three months into the new season.

Another thing weighed in Sarri’s favour is the fact Chelsea face Manchester City in the EFL Cup final on Sunday.

Depriving Sarri of a cup final in his first season in charge of the club would be extremely cut-throat – and Abramovich would then need a replacement boss in place before kick off at Wembley.

So how long with Sarri last?
Losing to United and then going down to City would almost certainly see Sarri sacked.

Even if Chelsea beat Malmo in the second leg of their Europa League clash on Thursday – which they currently lead 2-1 – Abramovich will not be impressed.

The billionaire is rarely worried about sacking managers midway through the season and if Chelsea look as though they will miss out on the Champions League yet again then he could wield the axe.

After the City game, Chelsea face Tottenham, Fulham, Wolves and Everton.

That will be a pivotal period for Sarri and his future.
