A woman in Masongo Kisii nearly lost her life and is currently recuperating in hospital after she was attacked by a mob for assaulting her stepdaughter.
This comes after the woman inserted a hot knife in the private parts of the -year-old girl!
The girl, whose parents passed away six years ago, was forced to live with her stepmother who’s been severely abusing her since.
When the residents found that the young girl had attained serious burns, they descended on her and nearly killed her.
Fortunately for the woman named Kwamboka, she was rescued by police officers who rushed to the scene and took both the stepmother and the daughter to the Kisii Level Six Hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, the two are currently in stable condition.
According to the police report filed at the Kisii Central Police Station documented that the girl sustained serious burns on her private parts, her buttocks, and her thighs.
The woman is poised to appear in court on Monday.
Statistics show that over 14 percent of women and 6 percent of men in the country between the age of 15-49 have experienced some form of sexual violence in their lives.
One can only imagine the emotional trauma that she experienced in the hands of her stepmother.
