Sad! Love triangle cost life

Jafar Ahmed Salim, 19 years old from Kibera was allegedly killed by Ali Aleza who is an ex boyfriend of his girlfriend in his girlfriend’s house in Mashimoni, Kibera. The girl, 21-year-old Rukia had sent him shs. 400 to come and visit her in Kibera. He visited his girlfriend’s house in the company of his cousin, Iddi. They spent the night in the single room where Jafar was in bed with his girlfriend Rukia together with her two year old son.

Two other girls identified as Mwanaidi and Bahati together with Iddi slept on the floor. At around 11 pm someone knocked at the door and the Rukia asked who it is; ”The person who knocked at the door said. Let me finish some assignment here then call you,” explains Iddis.

The door was hit and the house broken into and a middle aged man got inside. He went straight to bed and found Rukia and Jafar. Iddis dashed to close the door so that he can fight off the intruder. Unfortunately, he met two other people and one of them hit him.

Iddi  ran away and went to sleep at his grandmother’s place on Karanja road. He identified one of the attackers as Ali an ex-boyfriend to Rukia. Bahati has recorded a statement with the police and Mwanaidi did not. Rukia called Jafars mother at around 3 am on the morning telling her that they had been attacked and Jaffer had been stabbed to death.

Rukia and her uncle’s took Jafar to Kenyatta National hospital where he was pronounced dead and later taken to city mortuary. The family carried out a postmortem and buried Jafar. The family says they were not given the postmortem results and that they were given to Rukia after she claimed she was Jafars wife. She also did not attend the burial but her parents did.

What remains a shock to the family is that after the burial, Rukia posted on her WhatsApp status bragging about Jafars death; ”Stupid women, stay there mourning a stupid death, if you wanted to save him, you should have done so. If you want to know about Jaffer’s death, ask me.”
