Manchester City are reportedly lining up a move for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as a replacement for Fernandinho.
City have been frustrated in their attempts to find a replacement for the Brazilian with their two initial targets in Jorginho and Fred choosing Chelsea and Manchester United instead.
Pep Guardiola also suffered another blow last month with longtime Ajax target Frankie De Jong agreeing a deal to join Barcelona in the summer.
According to sources, City are preparing a £70million bid for the 22-year-old but will again have to battle United to seal the deal.
Ndombele has been in terrific form for Lyon this season, impressing in the Champions League as they finished second in their group behind City.
