It is a death that has attracted caught the eye of many human rights activists and organizations in the country among them Haki Africa who have issued a statement in Mombasa lamenting over the authorities speed in findinng lost people as Caroline had been lying at city mortuary while search took a whole seven days to find her.
In expression of support with their own,an independent autopsy is to be conducted as activists have declared they want to have their own two independent pathologists supported by human rights sector within the country in the operation to unearth the real cause of Caroline’s death.
Kenyan vocal Human rights defender Khalid Hussein said the information coming out especially from police authority is not clear for instance from the records, the names in the OB number from Kenyatta police station are different from the ones listed at city mortuary of the person who brought the body.
The details in the record at the city mortuary have also been written over;the reporting police station was written as Kenyatta but someone crossed over Kenyatta and wrote Kilimani on top,,inconsistencies in the names of the diseased caroline Mbeki instead of Caroline Mwatha have been noted as well.
Detectives have thus far arrested six people in connection to the death of Ms Mwatha.
The Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti, in a statement issued Tuesday evening, said the suspects were arrested over Ms Mwatha’s alleged botched abortion and disposal of her body at a city morgue.
