Kenyans on Twitter have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to pay nurses, just hours after the head of state issued orders requiring the nurses to report back to work or be dismissed.
Most Kenyans have expressed outrage following Uhuru’s order.
Trending under the hashtag #PayNursesKE below is what some of them said.
President Kenyatta and his council of governors need to know and respect the fact that Nurses are the back borne of health care in Kenya. Overworked, cheated with false RTWFs and paid peanuts! Its time to #PayNursesKE

These nurses are parents too and they have their own homes with families but sometimes they put their patients' needs ahead of their own,its very unfair they should go to the streets to cry for what they deserve, its sad.Stakeholders in this health sector should work. #PayNursesKE

Nurses are asking for very little 3000 per month and it takes loads of intimidations even from the president of the tepublic of kenya whereas when passing their travel budgets it takes minutes #paynursesKE

Where and how can we express our grievances when we discover that our professional services and good will are being abused in the name of professional ethics? It's unfair #PayNursesKe

Look at them🙈
They do not come with stones!
They only carry vuvuzellas and banners! These guys just want to save lives! Pay them their allowances, please.#PayNursesKe pic.twitter.com/DLLMBVAog5— Kwale Gunner 🇰🇪 (@Sam_Lulli) February 13, 2019

We are feeling undervalued, underpaid, unsafe, and unsupported. A nurse will shout black and blue to advocate for their patients, and ensure they get the care they require, but they are struggling to be heard while trying to advocate for themselves. #PayNursesKE
