Kenyans React to President Uhuru’s Remarks of Sacking Striking Nurses

Kenyans have given different reactions concerning the president’s remarks of firing striking nurses who will not have reported to work by Friday 15.

The president said this while addressing the nation over the stalemate that has been surrounding the health sector.

The health sector has been paralyzed since February 4 when the Kenya National Union of Nurses issued a notice to health workers to down their tools since the government has failed to honour the CBA agreement signed in December 2017.

On Wednesday morning, the president accompanied by governors addressed the nation terming the ongoing strike as illegal and against the court orders.

He further stated that action will be taken by the police on picketers who may intimidate health workers who want to go back to work.

However, many Kenyans did not receive the news positively and gave their reaction on the president’s remark.
