Manchester United were outclassed at Old Trafford as they fell to their first defeat under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 2-0.

During the game, Di Maria, who used to play for United, was noticeably booed by the home fans.
The Argentine also got into an earlier collision with Ashley Young that saw him tumble into the advertising boards on the side of the pitch.

But in the second half, he whipped a corner into the box that was touched in by Prensel Kimpembe at the far post, before providing a pinpoint pass for Kylain Mbappe to turn home.

But in-between both goals, the former United fan decided he had some celebrating to do.

A beer bottle was thrown onto the pitch near Di Maria, but the stunt didn’t seem to affect him.

The former Real Madrid man proceeded to pick the bottle up before pretending to take a sip.

The gesture likely annoyed United fans who are still left disappointed by his below-average tenure at Old Trafford.

As well as losing 2-0, the night ended on a more sour note, as Paul Pogba was sent off for a second bookable offence.

The Frenchman will miss the second leg in Paris at the beginning of March.

United also lost Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard through injury during the game, and they were both replaced by Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez.

The defeat was United’s first since they lost to Liverpool in December at Anfield.

That result saw Jose Mourinho get the sack before Solskjaer was appointed as caretaker boss.

Under the Norwegian, United have now won 10, drawn one and lost one.

They have a tough few weeks coming up, as they play Chelsea in the FA Cup before facing Liverpool in the Premier League and PSG again in the second leg of their last 16 tie.
