Was Billian Ojiwa’s disappearance a publicity stunt? Kenyans react

Kanu Youth Congress chairman and Mathare community mobiliser Billian Ojiwa, who had been missing since Sunday, has been found alive.

His wife Nerima Wako shared the good news and expressed her gratitude for everyone who helped in the search in a Facebook post on Tuesday, saying Mr Ojiwa had been found safe.

Mr Ojiwa’s nature of dissappearance, which is still under unclear circumstances, had been framed as something of a conspiracy.

Mr Joseph Towett, the Kanu national executive director had earlier said: “The information we have is that Billian is in touch with the family members and the same has been reported to the police and therefore we’d give police time to find out the circumstances that came out of that social media circulation.”

Kenyans who had previously taken on twitter to assist in his search have shown their relief at the good news with some questioning if the disappearance was a publicity stunt.

Every rumor and ‘joke’ regrettably has some truth to it. Whether they are only rumors or facts, we shall soon find out. For now, Kenyans are relieved at his safety.
