Underwears outside Tharaka-Nithi Governor’s offfice

Irate Women caused drama  dumping their inner wears outside Tharaka-Nithi Governor’s office, citing insults from the governor.

The women accused Governor Muthomi Njuki of being disrespectful for referring to the as dirty and hence demanding an apology from him.

The women who came as far as Tharaka, Maara and Chuka/Igambang’ombe sub-counties were forced to present their grievances to Chief of Staff Mr Wilson Murithi and other county officials since the Governor and his deputy were not present.

They accused the governor of abusing women severally in public, despite getting overwhelming support from them in the 2017 general elections.

Njuki has been on record several times castigating women, at times portraying them as inferior or ‘useless’.

At one time, he was on record telling contractors “that they will be paid by their mothers” after demanding their dues. His sentiments did not augur well with the county women, who felt insulted.

In another instance, he was at loggerheads with the women for saying that Senator Kithure Kindiki spoke with a feminine voice.

The women also said that they felt insulted by the governor while in Tharaka constituency where he told them to look for sponsors to finance beauty pageant saying the county had no funds to waste in facilitating models to cat walk in front of Members of County Assembly who were demanding the event.
