The body of a middle-aged woman was on Tuesday morning found hanged from an electricity pole in Rukanga Village, Mwea Constituency in Kirinyaga County, in what authorities suspect to be a case of murder most foul.
The woman’s face was badly deformed. Police have since established that the victim was doused in acid, which has also burned her back.
The law enforcement agents further suspect that the woman could have been raped elsewhere and her body taken to Rukanga Village.
Her body was found hanged from a rope tied around her neck and suspended from an electricity pole.
On Tuesday morning, police from Sagana post took the woman’s body to Murang’a Level 5 Hospital mortuary, where postmortem would be done to establish what caused her death.
No arrests have been made thus far, with Mwea West OCPD, Jospeh Matiko, saying they are investigating the incident.
The woman’s identity is also yet to be established, with police saying they have taken her finger prints to determine her identification.
