The bad news has been finally confirmed. Missing Dandora activist Caroline Mwatha’s body was found at city mortuary on Tuesday evening. She has been missing since Wednesday last week.

But the probe into her murder is bound to raise more questions than answers, since police say that her body was booked at the facility on 7th February, that is two days after she had gone missing.

This contradicts a report by the family which said that they had visited city mortuary previously but did not find her body. So where was the body in the past 5 days?

Mwatha, a senior official at Dandora Community Social Justice Center, disappeared last Wednesday.

She had been documenting cases of enforced disappearance and police extrajudicial killings, including the cold-blooded murder of six Dandora residents in October last year.

Kenyans had long suspected foul play even before her body was found. It is now up to the DCI and DPP to get to the bottom of the matter.
