Detectives have revealed that Dandora based activist Caroline Mwatha might have died in an unnamed clinic in Nairobi. Mwatha’s body was found on Tuesday at city mortuary on Tuesday afternoon, a week after she was reported missing by her family.
Police now say that the woman might have died at a clinic where she went to seek unspecified medication before her body was taken to city mortuary. Two key suspects; a woman believed to be a nurse at the clinic and a male doctor have been arrested and will provide more information on what happened.
Details have also revealed that her body was booked at the facility last week on Thursday, though it is not clear how it took so long to find her yet her family had been there to find the body.
Mwatha, a senior official at Dandora Community Social Justice Center, had been documenting cases of enforced disappearance and police extrajudicial killings, including the cold-blooded murder of six Dandora residents in October last year.
Her disappearance had already raised a storm online. Most Kenyans believe her death has something to do with her line of duty.
