Joshua Ochieng, the husband to the missing Activist since Wednesday, reveals the last moments he had with his wife.

Caroline Mwatha, the missing activist, worked as a Human Rights Activist who had all the documents of extra-judicial killings in Dandora, Nairobi.

Mr Ochieng, who trades in Dubai came back to the country on Sunday in a bid to search for his spouse of 20 years. He narrates that he had communicated to her on Wednesday through WhatsApp.

“We were chatting almost the whole night on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, she texted me good morning but due to the time difference, I responded late,” he stated.

Ochieng said that he called his wife twice on Thursday and someone received the call yet uttering no word.

“I called her many times when I woke up, but she was not picking. I thought it was normal because it was a working day. I assumed she was holed up in meetings as her job is demanding,” Ochieng’ stated.

He sensed danger and decided to call his wife’s workmates, who told him that Caroline had not reported for work.

He, however, expressed fears about his life and his children’s.

“My wife went missing while taking our daughter to school,” he cited.

“I’m not sure how safe my daughter will be,” he continued.

However, the coordinator of the Dandora Community Justice Center, Wilfred Olal, said that Mrs Caroline had not reported receiving any threat before.
