Wiper Democratic Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua might be engaged in a political battle for supremacy but one thing that remains certain is the fact that both leaders do not have any personal differences between them.

Governor Mutua confirmed this on Sunday when he said that his political runnings with Kalonzo are not personal and that they have no problems with each other.

“We have no problem with Kalonzo. We have a problem with politics of poverty.”

Well, Kalonzo and Mutua have a friendship that stems from way back.

Do you remember the burial of former Maasai Kingpin William Ole Ntimama?

Well, on that day, Kalonzo and Mutua shared the same vehicle.

It is said Mutua offered Kalonzo a ride from Ntimama’s Motonyi home to the Ole Sankale Primary School, some 1km away from where their helicopters had been parked. They chatted immediately after alighting, before Kalonzo jumped into his helicopter.

A light downpour that begun as the service was ending offered an opportunity for the two to share an umbrella and a car ride.

Kalonzo and Mutua have not shared a platform in the recent past due to political differences but that has done little to cause bad blood between the two leaders at a personal level.

Should this be a lesson to the Kenyan Public?

Well, politicians come and go and politics change with time meaning that Kenyans should never be on each others necks due to political differences.
