News Flash Kenyan women-Valentine’s day is not only for you!

While Kenyan women are all about the soap opera and telemundo life expecting the most extravagance from their men on 14th, the opposite is quite likely and they should anticipate it. Ironically, this most anticipated day by women is the most dreaded day by men. African culture has tailor made men who are ashamed of the public expessions and declaration of love and most of them believe it is a Western affair. It supposedly goes against everything they believe a man should be.

The story of St. Valentine has been told for centuries now, but nowhere in this historic tale does it justify whether the romantic holiday is meant for men, women or simply both.

Valentine’s Day is a day that is celebrated all over the world. It is a day that involves sweet nothings whispered into the ears of lovers, cards that end with “from your dearest Valentine” and the delivery of rose bouquets and chocolate boxes. Chocolate, candy, flowers — it’s the holy trinity of Valentine’s Day gift-giving for men looking to show the women in their lives how much they mean to them.

Should it work the other way, though? While images of men giving presents on February 14 are forced down our throat by mainstream media, including the Holy Grail of them all that is the engagement ring , we never think much about what women should give men. The argument of whom the holiday is targeted at has surfaced on numerous occasions.

Is it that men simply do not care about the holiday or since it is traditionally geared to the women they have withdrawn from it ?

The significance of Valentine’s Day is for couples to showcase their love towards one another. However, in this day and time, it seems as if it is created primarily for the man to platform his skills and abilities when it comes to courting his woman.

Contrary to popular belief however, Valentine’s Day isn’t only about the ladies. Kenyan women should take this into account and plan to make this Valentine’s day special for the man in your lives. There’s no greater feeling than giving love and receiving it right back.

Both men and women desire a romantic, private setting for their special Valentine’s Day.
