The five counties that are set to start the strike today include; Kwale, Garissa, Samburu, Kirinyaga and Embu according to the Secretary General.

Panyako maintains that until their demands are made, the nurses will not return to work and are prepared to to batte for their rights for as long as it takes.

“We will not return to work until our demands are made, we have been tricked before by the Council of Governor that we return to work as they continue to work on our demands, they never kept the promise. This time round we will fight to the end,”said Panyako

The SG also affirmed that nurses serving under the Ministry of Health will aslo join the strike. They include nurses at Mathari National Teaching and Referal Hospital, National Spiral Inhury Referal Hospital and Port Health and Blood Transfusion Centre.

Clinical officers are also expected to hold a crucial meeting later in the week to make their decision on whether they will join the nurses or not after their Collective Bargainning  Agreement collapsed.
