Kalonzo denounces his words on presidential term limit!

 

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has distanced himself from reports that he is in support of president Uhuru Kenyatta’s third term presidential bid.

The former vice presidented said that some people with ill-motives delibaretely misquoted him and embleshed his simple and clear statement with propaganda and falsehood aimed at tarnshing his name.

“I said it clearly and in very simple sentences that I have forgiven my brother President Uhuru Kenyatta and that I have nothing against him. I didn’t mean that I am now supporting him for a third term like some people are purporting,”said Kalonzo

Kalonzo had on February 8, 2019 said that he would support the constitutional reforms that will see president Uhuru remain in power even after the expiry of his term in 2022.

“I am ready to support constitutional amendments that will see Uhuru’s stay in government extended even after his term ends in 2022,” he said while addressing a gathering in Komarock, Nairobi.

Kalonzo also downplayed allegations that he was not in good terms with Ukambani leaders particularly the relationship with governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni).

He said he did not have any hard feelings towards any of the governors and that he had buried any political differences they may have had over the time. He expressed his willingness to work with all the leaders from the region fr the purpose of realising development and economy growth in Ukambani.

He was speaking during a funeral at Kiunduani, Makindu in Makueni county on Sunday, February 10. The funeral was also attended by Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu who concurred with Musyoka on the call for unite in theregion.
