CJ Maraga announces Reshuffling of Court of Appeal judges

Chief Justice David Maraga has announced the transfer of judges of the court of appeal in various counties; Nairobi, Malindi, Kisumu, and Nyeri.

In the transfers announced on Monday, February 11 and which take effect from April 8, 2019, Justices Erastus M. Githinji, Hannah M. Okwengu, and Jamila Mohammed have been moved from Kisumu to Nairobi.

Judges Wanjiru Karanja and Martha Koome were also moved to Nairobi from Malindi.

Justices Fatuma Sichale and Sankale ole Kantai have been transferred from Nyeri to Nairobi.

Also moved were Judges A. Makhandia, Patrick Kiage and Otieno-Odek who have been moved to Kisumu from Nairobi, while S. Gatembu Kairu and A.K. Murgor, who were also in Nairobi, have been taken to Malindi.

Judges Roselyn Nambuye and Daniel Musinga have been moved to Nyeri from Nairobi.

The judges who have not been affected are Court of Appeal President William Ouko, Mohammed Warsame, Philip Waki, Kathurima M’Inoti, who is the Director of the Judiciary Training Institute, and Justice Alnashir Visram, who is based in Malindi.

Last week the Chief Justice transferred five High Court judges among them Chacha Mwita, Weldon Korir, Wilfrida Okwany, James Aaron Makau, and Reuben Nyakundi.
