ODM Does the Unthinkable to it’s By-Election Candidate as Raila Fronts New Ally

Is the word “Democratic” in ODM suddenly loosing it’s meaning?

ODM has lately mastered the art of hand picking candidates and doing away with those it consider’s not up to the task of flying it’s flag in various electoral contests.

The Party first ruled out any nominations in Embakasi South and Ugenya Constituencies and instead handed direct nomination tickets to Irshad Sumra and Mr. Karan.

Fast foward, the opposition Party has now dropped a candidate it had earlier fronted for the position of the Wajir West Parliamentary seat whose election was nullified.

In a tweet by the party’s Director of Elections Junet Mohamed, the party has decided to go with a scholar, Prof. Mohammed Yussuf Elmi hence dropping Mr Kolosh.

“@TheODMparty to field Prof. Mohammed Yussuf Elmi in the Wajir West by-election. We look forward to welcoming Prof. to the National Assembly of Kenya,” tweeted Hon Junet who is ODM’s Director of Elections.

It is however not clear why ODM decided to drop it’s first candidate with Hon Junet only going on to highlight Prof. Elmi’s profile and credentials.

“Prof. Elmi was until recently the Chancellor of Rongo University. He served the country with distinction in KDF and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Worked for UNICEF as Health Specialist at Garissa Field zonal office and Ministry of Health Kenya.

Also served as a visiting scholar of the University of Lusaka, Zambia . I believe the professor is best suited to represent Wajir West and continue with his health and education work in the region,” said Junet.

Former MP Kolosh’s election was successfully contested by his KANU counterpart Abdirahman Ibrahim Mohamed.
