Goodwill Ambassador Sonko hosts the launch of the Good Deeds Day in Nairobi

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has today hosted the launch of the Good Deeds Day in Nairobi County.

This event brought together dignitaries from different places and Sonko welcomed then for a luncheon.

The Good Deeds day started in Israel 13 years ago and has grown into a huge international event.

The principle or main belief in the celebration of this day is that doing good is good business.

Speaking during the meet up, Sonko declared that he supports the mission of getting people to volunteer and choose to help others.

He also added that this is a noble cause that will make the world a better place, and improve the lives of our fellow men and women.

Mike Sonko believes that the main reason why he  is the Governor of the Nairobi today is because of good deeds.

A few years ago,  Sonko set up an organization known as the Sonko Rescue Team, to respond to the suffering and frustration that he witnessed among the people of Nairobi and Kenya as a whole, particularly those in low income areas.

Last year, Israel named Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko as the Good Deeds Goodwill ambassador.

Good Deeds Global chief executive Kaynan Rabino lauded Sonko his support towards various communities and the beautification on Mombasa Road.

“We have been watching various videos on YouTube, you are a leader who should be emulated by many. People should not take your generosity for granted because what you have done so far is very commendable,” he said.

Sonko today gladly said that he was delighted to   have been chosen for that position.
