Blow for Gor Mahia as Oliech is ruled out of Mashemeji Derby

Legendary striker Denis Oliech has dealt Gor Mahia a huge blow after limping out of training ahead of tomorrow’s Mashemeji derby. The inform striker who netted a solo goal in last week’s demolition of Egyptian giants Zamalek FC was expected to start in his first ever derby.

But he limped out of training at Camp Toyoyo on Friday afternoon, meaning he is a huge doubt for the clash against a limping AFC Leopards.

Gor Mahia however have enough bullets in their Arsenal to destroy Ingwe. Youthful striker Nicholas Kipkirui who has scored two goals in the past two games is expected to take the striker’s role alongside Jacques Tuyisenge who enjoys playing against Ingwe.

Gor also have Burundian Francis Mustafa and Ugandan import Erisa Ssekisambu who are waiting patiently on the bench. It will be interesting to see which pair coach Hassan Oktay will pick to start owing to the fact that they have a trip to Angola next.
