Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti, the man with nine lives has survived a grueling court battle and will now serve his remaining term in office. It all looked like the beloved people of Homa Bay were headed to a by-election.
This is after the High Court and the Court of Appeal nullified his elections last year. The petition challenging the election of Awiti, popularly known as Akuba, was filed in September 2017 by former Kasipul MP Oyugi Magwanga.
However, in one of the most controversial decisions, the Supreme Court has upheld his victory. But was the ruling tampered with? According to blogger Abraham Mutai, the Supreme Court ruling was manipulated on Thursday evening. The outspoken blogger says that the people of Homa Bay were headed to a by-election until the last minute.

“The people of Homa Bay were set to go for a by-election but that judgement was changed based on the handshake maneno and Cyprian Awiti’s election will be upheld, sources have indicated.”
The reason why this information looks credible is the fact that Mutai posted hours before the Court made its decision. And so we ask, did Raila interfere with the Supreme Court Decision?
