The governors in Kenya are seemingly not ready to let go off their powers. It is always said that power is addictive and someone can easily get drunk with it. This absolutely right here in Kenya, actually in the entire African Continent.

This debate has been on silent tones for quite a while with governors trying to fight to remain in power for more than the stipulated time.

According to the current constitution which was promulgated on 2010, the term limit for the governors is only two terms.

But the governors now want their term limit to be extended from from the current two terms to something more than that.

To achieve this it means a referendum has to be called.

Do you support this?

New Council of Governors under the leadership of Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya are set to continue pushing for this agenda.

This agenda is believed to be supported by most governors who are serving the second and last term in office. Most of them justify this move with the need to complete projects which they started and need to be completed.

For this to be achieved it means the country has to have a referendum which will call for the constitutional review that will allow them to have their wish.

The calls for referendum were so much conspicuous last year with Hon Raila Odinga leading on theĀ  fore front for pursuing this course of the constitutional reform.

This is one of the hardest course taken by the governors. It chances of succeeding is just very minimal.
