‘Fake fight against corruption’? Miguna discloses plans in Uhuru’s “kitchen cabinet”

Kipchumba MurkomenA silent but vicious war has erupted in Jubilee following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s purge on graft with allies of his deputy, William Ruto, feeling they are unfairly being targeted.

The MPs, mostly from the DP’s Rift Valley backyard and the pastoralist communities, are now plotting an all-out political battle against selected members of President Kenyatta’s “kitchen cabinet” whom they blame for what they call a plot to derail Mr Ruto’s presidential ambitions.

Those who feel aggrieved said if the trend continued, they too will be forced to come out to say what they know about corruption in high places.

The lawmakers hold that the war on graft, though good for the country, should not be used to settle political scores.

However ,exiled controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna  has spoken out about President Uhuru Kenyatta’s inner circle reported unease with his deputy William Ruto.Image result for miguna miguna

Miguna alleges a scheme to ‘weaponise’ the war against corruption, ensnare Ruto and his close allies in government, before ultimately bundling him out as Uhuru’s deputy.

“During the Serena Hotel meeting, I also disclosed to Raila that Uhuru Kenyatta’s inner core….I told Raila that Uhuru planned to kick out Ruto from Jubilee and government towards the end of their tenure. Their scheme was to fight Ruto at two fronts,” says Miguna.
He alleges the first scheme was to ‘choreograph a fake fight against corruption’.
“The idea was to weaponise the fight against corruption and use it to undermine, sabotage and attempt to destroy their perceived, or real, political enemies, including Ruto, before removing him (Ruto) as Uhuru’s DP.

“Uhuru’s senior political advisers were determined to stop Ruto from becoming President. They were doing all that with Uhuru’s tacit support. Wanjigi, too, had shared with me stories of Uhuru’s mortal fear of Ruto – quite literally,” says Miguna.

The MPs, from the DP’s Rift Valley backyard, most of who spoke in confidence, are concerned that the recent focus on the ministry of Energy parastatals such as the Kenya Pipeline Company and Kenya Power, headed by Mr Joe Sang and Dr Ken Tarus, respectively, is a ploy to make the DP look bad in the eyes of the public.

“You can clearly see that some of these actions follow a predictable pattern. We may have chosen to remain silent for now but if things continue this way, our gloves will be off,” one of them said.
