According to the family’s representative, Fadi Moussa, Starehe Boys was chosen because of the school’s legacy in catering for bright students from needy families and its rich heritage in shaping leaders in diverse fields of the society.

The project, which commenced in October 2018, involved the refurbishing of the Njonjo House dormitory, named in honour of Kenya’s former Attorney General Charles Njonjo.

The money also went into the installation of safety features like an automatic and manual fire alarm, smoke detectors, fire escape doors, and plumbing works.

Additionally, it also included installation of People With Disability (PWD) washrooms for the physically challenged, fixing of cabinets, veranda canopies, aluminium windows and paint works.
