Sonko disciplines land grabbers by reclaiming encroached land

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has today dealt with  land grabbers as he had earlier promised.

The Governor made it clear that his administration will not tolerate impunity and corruption in Nairobi City County.

Earlier today, Nairobi City County Government officers reclaimed Asmah Lane, a back street off Koinange Street which had been grabbed by a private developer.

The lane is said to have been intruded by the Management at CJ’s restaurant which is nearby that street.

Sonko and his team brought down a gate that was blocking the lane and therefore was a barrier for people to use that lane.

This move comes after the county government established that some of the roads have been grabbed and turned into privates spaces

The Governor also sent a warning to people who have appetite of encroaching land saying that any who has taken part in such acts should surrender and allow access of the roads to the public.

They also added that moving on, they will be conducting arrests and charging people who intrude in public land.

His administration also insisted that it is a crime to own public property  and therefore such acts should be dealt with.

Mike Sonko also went to Lavington Secondary School, where a private developer is said to have grabbed a part of the school land and is doing some development forcefully.

The Governor assured Kenyans that he will not condone such behaviour neither will he spare the involved.
