Reported cases began to be rooted out after Dusit Terror attack where the suspects vehicle was later discovered to have a similar plate number with another car.

A couple days ago, police arrested top executives from NTSA amid the ongoing crackdown.

Matiangi today made it clear that it does not end there since they will further deal with criminals behind duplicate registration.

Speaking during the meet up, the Interior CS assured that  the exercise will  clean up the system to ensure that such cases do not happen.

“We will go about this exercise with very little mercy, where laws have been broken and where things have been done in a manner in which they are not supposed to be done. Let’s be honest people and let us live a life of integrity.”

“We cannot have been entrusted such a serious responsibility like registering motor-vehicles and so on and all we would do is play games with it, without noticing and understanding the dangers we are exposing our country to,” he warned.
