“She will be my eyes”,,blind groom says on wedding day

A couple have decided to take on the love is blind challenge for real by taking a step further in their relationship to get married depite the man being blind

On Saturday in Kimende town, the wedding bells brought Kiambu to a standstill when a 37-year-old woman said I do to the love of her life who is visually impaired.

The wedding attracted a crowd at Deliverance Church, many of the people curious onlookers.

The bride, Joyce Kagure, arrived in church with her parents at around 10am, five minutes after her husband John Njoroge.

Songs of praises filled the air when they walked in, and soon after presiding Reverend Faith Wangunyu thanked the choir as the service began.

Reverend John Kamau, who conducted the marriage service, described the couple as brave.

“Joyce can see John physically, but John says he sees Joyce with her inner eyes. This is a very unique wedding,” he said.

Kagure said she met Njoroge in church five years ago when he was leading the praise and worship team.

“I found myself speaking to him a lot. Friendship and a relationship developed. We shared so many stories,” she said.

“He gave me advice on the challenges I was facing and I also encouraged him.”

There was laughter in church when Njoroge said he had found “other eyes”.
