Job plea for a newly married blind groom

A couple has wowed resident of Kimende in Kiambu county after tying the knot despite the groom being blind.Many flocked Deliverance church on Saturday to witness the union where they were marvelled at the grooms sentiments that the new wife would now be his eyes.

Njoroge, 36, graduated after taking a course as a telephone operator and customer care at Thika School for the Blind. He is looking for a job.His wife 37, works at Cleanshelf Supermarket.

Kagure’s uncle Benson Njenga said initially the family was disturbed by their relationship and marriage plans.

“When she broke the news about the marriage, we were disturbed. I’m sure some people tried to discourage her, but I didn’t because she is an adult,” he said.

Njoroge’s family friend Simon Kareke said he has found a helper. He said Njoroge needed attention from the family and more so a wife.

“We are happy and we are praying that God will bless them. We also appealing to well-wishers to give Njoroge,” Kareke said.

Rev Wangunyu told worshipers to pray for the couple since they have agreed to stay together.

“They have taught us a lesson that everything is possible in the eyes of our Lord and more so to the people living with disabilities. They have a life before the eyes of God,” she said.

Their best couple John Mutysia and Elizpha Wairimu too said they couldn’t resist the couple’s request to oversee their wedding since they were their great friends.

After the wedding and reception in the church compound, the couple left for Njoroge’s home in Hilton village in Kijabe ward to start a new life at 6pm.
