As Kenya was drawn to Burundi in the opening phase of the CHAN 2020 qualifiers, the tie that has left Harambee stars looking for a clear win both at home and in Bujumbura under the tutelage of French coach Sebastien Migne, the Uganda cranes is also chanting ear to ear after being drawn to South Sudan whom they are hosting in Kampala both in the home game and the away game.

According to the draw held on Wednesday at the Confederation of African Football (Caf) headquarters in Cairo, the dates for all the qualifier matches will be communicated. This competition is only reserved players who play in their respective home leagues.

This is the second consecutive time, Uganda is drawn to South Sudan whom in the last edition held them on an O draw at home and later trounced the Stars at the Star times stadium Lugogo 5-1 with Mbarara star Paul Mucurezi scoring four goals, one goal from Derrick Nsibambi and a Sudanese consolation goal from Khamis Leyano.

A challenging task ahead of Uganda could come in the second round where the winner will meet any of Madagascar and Mozambique from the southern zone.
The two French coaches Sebastian Migne and Sebastian Desabre all have higher chances of qualifying.
