PHOTOS: President Kenyatta bids farewell to Ambassador Bob Godec

President Uhuru Kenyatta has today bid farewell to the outgoing US Ambassador to Kenya Bob Godec and outgoing  Ethiopian Ambassador to  Kenya, Dina Mufti Sid when they called on him at State House, Nairobi

Kenyatta  commended the envoys for strengthening relations between Kenya and their respective countries during their tour of duty.

The head of stated stated that US and Kenya have witnessed expanded relations across all sectors of cooperation including health, food security and transport, key among them being the launch of direct flights between Nairobi and New York

In his farewell speech a couple days ago, the outgoing US Ambassador to Kenya said that they are supporting President Kenyatta’s Big Four initiative, encouraging better governance, and empowering women and people with disabilities.

He also added that they are the largest international investor in devolution and are pleased to see the counties begin to bring about real change across Kenya.

Bob Godec also stated that the US is helping to reduce poaching and protect elephants and other wildlife and also strongly support the fight against corruption and are working with the justice sector to strengthen the rule of law.

Yesterday, the Foreign Affairs led by PS hosted a farewell luncheon for H.E , outgoing Amb. of the United States of America.

The Ambassador also termed Kenya as an exceptional country saying that In his travels to every corner of this country, Kenya’s teachers, farmers, business leaders, health workers, conservationists and so many more inspired him with their determination, resilience, and courage.

‘Remarkable Kenyans are creating jobs, growing produce, promoting peace, countering violent extremism, conserving the environment, and improving literacy and digital skills. Talented, intelligent, and resourceful Kenyans are building this country and, at the same time, weaving the fabric of our partnership.” he said

He also thanked Kenyans generally for their warm treatment and hospitable character making it easy for them to blend  with the citizens as well as having a good time.
