Manchester United agree £10million deal with Shandong Luneng

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sell Marouane Fellaini to Chinese side Shandong Luneng.

The Red Devils will receive £10million for the Belgian midfielder, who has fallen out of favour under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and been deemed surplus to requirements by the club.

Fellaini is set to end a five-and-a-half year stint at Old Trafford, having been signed by David Moyes for £27million from Everton in 2013.

Fellaini, 31, has passed a medical and been given permission to discuss terms with Shandong, who have reached an agreement in principle with United.

He is set to ink a £200,000-a-week deal with the Chinese Super League side.

Fellaini was a trusted figure at United under Jose Mourinho.

And that trust saw the club hand him a new two-year contract last summer, extending his deal until 2020.

But following Mourinho’s dismissal and Solskjaer’s arrival, he played just 31 minutes in the Norwegian’s first five matches in charge.

He has since missed the last four, including the 2-2 draw with Burnley on Tuesday night, with a calf injury.

Now United have elected to cut their losses on the  87-cap Belgium international.
