Man Utd Track 17-Year-Old Ligue 1 Defender After Making Offer In Summer

France’s Foot Mercato have reported on alleged interest from Manchester United in Benoit Badiashile, adding the AS Monaco starlet to the club’s already long list of potential transfer targets.

Sport Witness brought it the update to our attention this evening, with the French source claiming their information has come from a source close to the Old Trafford club, but there is no indication about that individual’s role in the deal.

It may well be a scout as Badiashile is a new name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford. He’s not frequently made the gossip pages yet, though that could soon change with speculation over his future growing.

He is a 17-year-old defender with 10 Ligue 1 appearances to his name this season. Thierry Henry called upon the youngster during his short stint as club manager, which lasted just over three months, but now the he will have to rely on Leonardo Jardim to get more minutes on the pitch.

SW add that it is very unlikely that Badiashile will be on the move this month, though it seems someone at United thinks it would be a good idea to track his progress as a potential future signing.

It is also noted that by the same French website over the weekend that United were one of many clubs that made an offer to sign Badashile last summer.
