Money makes the world go round and there is nothing going to stop even our very own capital from reaping as much as they can from its revenue generating sources.

The Nairobi metropolitan area transport authority(NAMATA) announced that the city would have two free car days in week. This is expected to create 10,000 jobs for traders who were previously scattered and engaged in frequent run-ins with the county authorities

The cabinet secretary for transport while speaking in an interview with KTN  said that any form of a motor vehicle including Boda bodas, Tuk Tuks and bicycles will not be allowed on the designated streets to allow for citizens to shop freely saying that the government would not provide alternative designated parking spots.

Transport PS Paul Maringa said there will be dedicated parking in Uhuru Park and Railways as no car will be allowed within the CBD during these two days.

Maringa said this will generate Sh39.5 million daily revenue to the Government from over 100,000 hawkers.
