After the judiciary taking hits recently for being a massage parlour that led to photos of Judiciary heads being displayed in compromising situations where they are seen massaging criminals instead of prosecuting them, the wrath of chief justice David Maraga fell on the media and his colleagues.
Soon after the public has cursed yet again the judiciary after the story of Lydia Achieng’ who has stayed behind bars, allegedly due to a prosecution technicality in a case she was accused of defilement went viral.
May Kenyans have taken to twitter to express courts animosity with Lydia’s story being the main case study.Theyare also demanding for justice for the allegedly innocent lady.
We demand to know the names of the magistrate who convicted “Lydia Achieng”, the woman who accused her, the boy she allegedly defiled and the police who took up the case. We also want to know how much the woman paid the magistrate, prosecutor, cops etc… ASAP @DPPS_KE

I have for long held judiciary shouldn’t be attacked and should be let independent but we must clean it up first and in a furious way! Just read a story of one Lydia Achieng and can’t believe the animosity our courts meted on her due to “technicalities” @dkmaraga

Lydia Achieng’s story highlights the horrible miscarriage of justice perpetrated against children of a lesser god.
The magistrate and all parties involved in this horrible crime, including Sophie her accuser, need to be held answerable.https://t.co/KjxuGs1jIl

Lydia Achieng should be free as soon as yesterday and her life restituted. She must be compensated for the wasted years, the terrible experiences she has endured in prison and the damages that come with defamation that in turn affected her reputation and standing in the society.
