Here is What Police Have Discovered After Looking into the CCTV Footage Captured at Latema Road Explosion

Fear and anxiety  hit Nairobi over the weekend after an Improvised Explosive Device went up in the CBD at Odeon along Latema Road. According to Nairobi’s Regional commander Philip Ndolo, two people were reported injured.

Witnesses account show that the explosion took place after a was handed a package by a stranger.

It has also been alleged that the said package could have been meant for a Public Service Vehicle situated around the Odeon bus stop.

Police are yet to identify and arrest the owner of luggage that exploded and injured two people along Tom Mboya Street in Nairobi on Saturday.

The team investigating the incident said it is relying on CCTV footage captured at the scene.

The two injured victims who include a newspaper vendor and a trolley puller were treated and discharged.

Police have concluded the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device that went off as it was being ferried to an unknown destination.

The trolley puller told the police he had been hired by a woman wearing hijab and told to deliver the luggage in a box to Kenya Cinema from Baba Dogo bus stop.

On the way, the baggage went off as the owner vanished.

Should the Police only rely on the CCTV footages or should they expand their investigations bracket further?
